Budapest-based techno producer Gnork luxuriates in the interaction of simple chords by drawing them out into long steady lines in his new Marbe EP. The effect is like an elevation map—there is a lot of depth represented in the information, but the information itself exists on a single dimensional plane. The repetitive nature of the tracks, their shallow dynamic range and disco sensibility are hypnotic in a moment as fleeting and dependent on context as a summer swim—it’s winter now, and we can’t remember what summer feels like. ☔
