I’ve been waiting patiently beside my computer for a new Bullion recording for… years; this new release on DEEK isn’t quite all distilled Nathan Bullion Jenkins, but I can feel him through the music and production and that is enough for now. What 4 Down is is a collection of wonderful artists attempting to “sing a song [they’d] wish [they’d] written;” artists including Joviale, Nautic, Kiki Kudo & Brian Close covering artists including XTC, Fleetwood Mac, and Eleven Pond. What 4 Down is is an incredibly intimate album of pieces that translate directly the messages of “hope” and “desire” and “wonder” and “life” from the perspective of the wandering creator; it’s a gem, nuanced and nurtured.🍍
