Joyless would be a bit of an under or overstatement (which one I’m unsure). In any case, the newest release on Bobby Donny, They Promised Us Ponies by Broke Brotherhood finds its musical and atmospheric orbits in close tangent with goth and political austerity. But taking a quick review of the Netherland’s fiscal year reveals the macabre within They Promised Us Ponies; either a fantasy of romanticized darkness or a language too idiosyncratic to reveal its aim from the EP title through the track titles. ⛰️
