Recently incoming young confident mystery firebrand producer R.O.S.H. is already ready to start anew, or perhaps this is his new beginning already started—it’s hard and beside the point to tell at this juncture. Hard and beside the point are also fantastic descriptors for this debut EP, four songs jam packed with sharp, heavy, overdriven beats taken to their limit and then let loose on fields of soft melodic instrumentation. There isn’t anything particularly memorable to be found here; the project feels rather safe despite its hardedge deep dark mood, but the level of production value, budding personality of the producer, and Turbo nod of approval place R.O.S.H. into the “ones to watch” bookmark list. 🍍
