A selection of tracks from Kornél Kovács’s spring album Stockholm Marathon have been deemed worthy of a second opinion courtesy of four shining examples of Music Makers. Robert Dietz sends ‘Rocks’ down a secret garden path full of whimsical plucked texture and sharp percussion, D. Tiffany sends ‘Purple Skies’ through a juicer and turns the contents into a spicy party punch that might or mightn’t have been spiked with a not insignificant amount of hooch, Paradise Alley covers ‘Marathon’ from the perspective of a cute-but-melancholy robot who just wants to feel something, and Butch whips ‘Baltzar’ into a dance machine without shedding any of the original intrigue and emotion. These great remixes have been made by a group of great producers and provide a great reminder of a great album. 🍍
