Gabor generously graces the Kompakt catalogue once again, in signature mindful minimal moody style. ‘Yes’ affirms our thoughts in title and content, building waves of emotional energy on top of bass filled balloons periodically popped by a mystery whispering “yes” directly into the back of our necks. The tension spills forth into ‘Calma Calma,’ a nostalgic and sorrowful trip that is almost disrupted by its use of C’hantel’s ‘The Realm,’ but the mood prevails; balance exists in these two pieces, each able to begin or end, to guide us through the night or ensure we arrive back safely.🍍
