Our favorite Papa Dancefloor has broken in the new year with the third release on his very own label. Bortonkk_21 EP kicks off with ‘Bortonkk_2,’ a very Gabor-heavy Robag track. Deep plucked bass notes send visible soundwaves through the halls of the haunted audio mansion from The Magic School Bus, Season 1, Episode 8. Emotive synths ebb and flow in the rooms of the expansive home, filling the space with a warm, breath-like atmosphere.
‘Beta Gora’ is a little less defined, with rolling percussion giving way to wisps of vocals and muted harmonic lines. The end of the track comes right at the height of the tension, a tension that can be released with a repeat play, or perhaps a saucy little edit later this year. 🍍
